What is IP rating in led lighting form Liteharbor Lighting?

IP rating is the international code used to identify the degree of protection by two numbers, the first digit represents the dust; the second number represents waterproof. The number is bigger, the better protection level.

The degree of protection number:
0- No protection, No special protection
1- Prevents objects larger than 50mm invasion, protect the human body to inadvertently touch parts inside the lamp, prevent objects larger than 50mm diameter of invasion
2- Prevent objects larger than 12mm and prevent the intrusion of a finger touch parts inside the lamp
3- Prevent is larger than 2.5mm diameter of invasion, the wires or objects intrusion
4- Prevent is larger than 2.5mm diameter of invasion, insects or objects intrusion
5- Cannot completely prevent the dust intrusion, but the amount of dust intrusion does not affect the normal operation of the electrical

How to choose the right LED lamp

1. Color temperature
Usually the LED lamp with color temperature range from 2700~6500K, the lower value tend to yellow color (warm white), and color temperature tend to blue white (cold white).Yellow color generally applicable to winder. The blue white is brighter and clear, suitable for summer, in study room, kitchen and so on.

2. Color rendering index
Color rendering index (CRI) refers to the color reality when object is irradiated by light, the value range from 0 to 100,and now LED bulbs CRI standards are higher than 75, and we recommend to choose CRI>80. 3. Luminous efficiency

SMD LED Precautions

(1)Reverse voltage protection
In generally, the reverse current of SMD LED is very small, it can't effect using the component normally, but when it often suffered the reverse voltage which exceed the limited of the component than it will be damaged, the reverse current increases creases rapidly causing the string light display gray scale, so when designing, please pay attention to control the reverse voltage, we suggest the voltage less than 10V.

(2)The safe temperature for LED working
The high temperature will make the LED's luminous intensity decreased radically, if LED worked in hot environment for a long time, they will be disabled easily. When LEDs are working in a close array, we suggest that the SMD LED surface temperature should be lower than 55 degree, and leg's temperature should be lower than 75 degree.

(3)No directly touch or press on LED
When handling the product, touching the SMD LED with bare hands will not only contaminate its surface, but also effect on its optical characteristics. Excessive force to the LED may result in catastrophic failure to it due to die breakage or wire deformation. For this reason, please does not put excessive stress on LEDs, especially when the LED are heated such as during reflow soldering.

The epoxy of encapsulate is fragile, so please avoid scratch or friction over the epoxy resin surface. Be careful when handing the product with tweezers, do not touch the epoxy resin.

What is Indirect Lighting

Indirect lighting is the terms relative to direct lighting.

Indirect lighting refers to fixtures that direct the light upward to bounce off of the walls or ceiling to light the room.

If the area is not receiving direct lighting, but is still illuminated to a certain degree, this means that this area is receiving indirect light. A good example is the difference between a person that is tanning under the sun, and a person under an umbrella. The person under the umbrella is still visible, because of indirect light reflecting from the sand and other surfaces.
